Shape Shifter有兩種模式。在 Rate模式裡面，tremolo的速度可從每秒一次到20次。LED可顯示tremolo的頻率以方便調整。在Ratio模式裡，可以透過Tap Rate切換鍵來自行建立你想要的速度，使tremolo的速率很容易就跟歌曲同步。此外，在Ratio模式，你能夠利用內建的節奏來選擇你要的節拍(四分音符、八分音符、三連音或16分音符等)。
Wave control讓 tremolo效果從正弦波的波形，可以轉變為三角形或者是長方型的波形。
大多數的tremolo都是在一段時間後增加音量，比方說是1/4秒，然後過了相同的時間之後再減低音量。如此就產生了一個柔順的tremolo效果。當你把他設定在中間值時，Shape Shifter就是這樣工作的。但是當你把Shape control轉離中心，增加音量與減少音量兩者的時間關係就會產生變化。像是你可以用1/10秒的間隔增加音量，4/10秒間隔減低音量，反之亦然。如此就能夠加上了非常不同的tremolo效果。快速的升高與緩慢下降，像是敲擊鋼琴一般的效果；相反的，開始的時候比較慢然後快速的下降，聽起來會好像錄音帶倒轉一樣。
